Leading Norfolk club, Acle Indoor Bowls Club has secured a high profile sponsorship deal for its new team strips. East Anglian Insurance and
Financial services provider the Alan Boswell Group will be featured on the clubs Mens & Womens team strips for the 2006/2007 season.
The Acle teams are home to many of Norfolk County Bowls Teams top players and officials, and the club has a well-earned reputation for ‘bringing-on’ new talent and young players, including George Tubby (27) who qualified for the World Singles Championship in 2006. The Club has produced 10 England Junior Internationals and won 20 County Titles in recent years. Acle Club members have also represented the United Kingdom winning a Commonwealth Games medal.
Denis Goodley, Club Secretary says “We are delighted to have been successful in persuading such a high profile organisation as the Alan Boswell Group to support us, the team strips ensure that wherever our Mens and Ladies teams play we are presenting a united front and ensuring our players relate to the importance of team work”.
The team strips feature standard white polo shirts with unique red shoulder panels and wet weather jackets again with a white base and red shoulder flashes, in keeping with accepted World Bowls Dress Code Etiquette.
On the first day of new season Acle Ladies were inspired by their new strips beating last years County Champions, Norfolk BC, on 3 of 4 rinks to record a 6-1 win.
Meanwhile Acle men participated in Norfolk’s (defending national champions) rout of Bedfordshire by over 100 shots at the County Arts Ground.
Denis Goodley commented “This was a good first outing in our new team strips, I think our ladies will provide us with some success this year and I am equally hopeful that Acle men will do well in the National Plate Competitions and in individual events”.
