Group Private Medical Insurance
A group can start with as little as 3 employees, these can be family members. Careful consideration needs to be given to the discounts available for the number of members covered, these increase as the group grows.
Cover can be arranged using a pre-existing conditions moratorium or new underwriting and, if there are enough members, a medical history disregarded basis. For existing groups who are looking to transfer cover then this can be done on a continued medical exclusion basis.
It is not necessary for all employees to be on the same cover, directors or key personnel may want a wider hospital selection or summary of benefits.
Premiums can be paid monthly or annually and a choice of excesses are available.
It needs to be remembered that this is a P11D benefit for all employees.
Insurance companies vary as to whether claims experience is taken into account at each renewal or with some the same rates are offered for all of their schemes, this can make a considerable amount of difference and is a major factor when choosing a provider.
