About this Landlords Association:
The Gateshead Landlords Association has over 200 members and covers approximately 1800 properties (30% of the private rented stock) in the area. The Association is very much a "true" partnership with the Council and works to achieve good practice; it is represented on the Gateshead Housing Forum which influences the Councils Housing Strategy.
The Association has a Management Committee made up of six members who meet regularly to decide on major issues affecting its members. It has quarterly meetings, which include guest speakers from various backgrounds ranging from energy efficiency to tax law. Members also receive regular training sessions on relevant topics such as abandonment, eviction, drugs awareness, welfare benefits, to name a few.
About the Landlords Insurance Scheme:
The insurance scheme is well established providing for all members very competitive premiums combined with bespoke cover and first class administration. It is underwritten by Norwich Union Insurance with whom all members should feel comfortable. Participation in the scheme benefits the association financially, helping to keep subscription costs low, by utilising its bulk buying power.
