Leading insurance broker, Alan Boswell Group has again teamed up with local racer Matt Allison; this time backing him in the brand-new Scuderia Vittoria racing team.
The Norwich-based broker and IFA, which employs over 180 staff across the East of England, has previously sponsored Allison in a partnership covering seasons in the Renault Clio Cup, the GT Championship and a spell in British Touring Car Championship (BTCC).
Now, for the 2011 season, Allison has joined the Scuderia Vittoria team, to contest the hotly-contested Air Asia Renault Clio Cup.
Alan Boswell, managing director of Alan Boswell Group, is delighted to have renewed the partnership: "We’ve been involved with Matt’s career for over 10 years now and have witnessed his progress in several other motorsport series. It’s great to be able to support him again in the Renault Clio Cup and we look forward to the success of his new team in 2011 and beyond."
Last weekend saw the Scuderia Vittoria team’s debut, at Brands Hatch, with Allison coming within 0.4.seconds of a podium finish in the second race. This was a great result, particularly considering he had taken part in just one race weekend since spring 2008.
Speaking after the race, Allison was delighted with the weekend’s outcome: "Our car was superb and on a bigger circuit we could have had a go for third, but I’m pleased with that… I’d like to thank my sponsors, (including) the Alan Boswell Group for their continuing support for what I’m sure will be a good season."
The Air Asia Renault Clio Cup is part of the British Touring Car Championship package which is broadcast on ITV4 and ITV4 HD. The next race is to be held at Donington Park on 16 and 17th April 2011.
