On 9th October 2010, a team of 12 staff members from high-flying Norwich insurance broker, Alan Boswell Group, jumped out of an aircraft at 10,000 feet as part of a bid to raise £5,000 for the Big C cancer charity.

Alan Boswell Group has had an association with Big C for over a decade – both as the charity’s corporate insurance broker and as an enthusiastic supporter - so managing director, Alan Boswell, is delighted that the so many of his personnel decided to take the plunge:

“Big C is such a worthwhile cause and this year – the charity’s 30th anniversary - we’ve committed to raising a minimum of £5,000 for them. The tandem skydive is one of several Big C fund-raising events we’ve been holding throughout the year.”

Big C is Norfolk’s local cancer charity and the money raised is used to fund cancer equipment at local hospitals, support and care at the Big C Cancer Information & Support Centre at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital and research at the UEA Biomedical Department.

The 12 volunteers jumped over Ellough airfield, near Beccles, in tandem with instructors from UK Parachuting and descended in freefall at around 120mph for approximately 35 seconds, falling around 5,000 feet, before their parachutes opened.

The intrepid skydivers were:
