Alan Boswell Group has been awarded the one star Best Companies accreditation for Workplace Engagement. The Group was one of the first to achieve the prestigious award in this the schemes inaugural year.
Similar to the Michelin scheme for restaurants, Best Companies makes awards on the basis of one star (first class), two star (outstanding) and three star (extraordinary). Accreditation was awarded to an elite group of only just over 250 companies nationally (131 1 star, 84 2 stars and 41 3 stars).
Group Human Resources Manager, Graham Littlewood commented: "This accreditation is based fundamentally on the opinions offered by our people in an independent and confidential survey. Over 90% of them took the trouble to complete a questionnaire so the result is credible and pleasing. But hopefully we are not complacent the results showed there are some areas we can improve on."
Best Companies also operates the annual Top 100 employer lists (in small, medium and large business categories) on behalf of the Sunday Times.
