31.03.26
Alan Boswell Group
The Alan Boswell Group Charitable Trust continues to deliver on its commitment to make a difference to charitable causes in the areas that we operate in. We wanted to provide an update on the difference our donations are making to some of the charities.
In the last quarter, the Trust reviewed 123 applications and awarded over £155,000 in grants.
Here are some of the grants that were made:
Sibling Support
Sibling Support received a donation of £3,000 to fund two day trips to Burghley Park and BeWilderwood for children who are grieving the loss of a sibling. Each child attending will also receive support pack as part of their visit.
Growbaby
Growbaby provide quality clothing and equipment for babies and children for free, regardless of income, faith or background. They were awarded a grant of £6,532 to set up their new site with racking and boxes in Great Yarmouth following the success of their Hellesdon branch.
The Froglife Trust
A £5,000 grant was awarded to The Froglife Trust to fund their project working with disadvantaged young people to create and improve habitats for amphibians, reptiles, and their habitats in the Peterborough area.
Alumah CIO
Alumah CIO were awarded a grant of £10,000 for their trauma informed community support programme, providing one-to-one support for young people who are survivors of domestic abuse.
East Anglian Air Ambulance
East Anglian Air Ambulance are currently in the process of building a new base in Cambridge due to the sale of Cambridge Airport. We've awarded £25,000 this year and will be awarding a second grant of another £25,000 in the next financial year towards their fundraising.
Norwich Men’s Shed
£5,000 towards new tools, critical dust extraction and soundproofing.
Mighty Mariners Boxing Academy CIC
£5,749 to replace worn out equipment at their gym in Grimsby.
Norwich Repair Café
£2,400 to fund the expansion of their monthly repair café to fix broken household items for free.
Bury St Edmunds and District Deaf and Hard of Hearing Association
£2,500 for their befriending scheme.
Lowestoft and Waveney Breastfeeding Support
£2,000 to run free support groups at James Paget Hospital in Great Yarmouth.
The Friends of Swaffham Area Community First Responders
£10,000 to purchase two sets of equipment to be used across Swaffham and Norwich.
We also received some fantastic feedback from charities that have received donations from the Trust in the past:
The Benjamin Foundation
£10,000 donated in July 2025 to fund their Boom! Young Carers groups in Norwich.
“The grant has enabled us to continue running our Boom! Young Carers groups on a fortnightly basis across Norwich. 98 of the young carers that attend our groups report that their caring responsibilities prevent them from seeing their friends socially, either sometimes or often, and 148 report that they sometimes or often feel stressed due to the caring situation. Our groups ensure that they have regular time to catch up with their peers to have fun and a break from their caring.
“We appreciate the support and grant from The Alan Boswell Charitable Trust and without it we would not have been able to have run the groups and activities this year for the young carers.”
Music Prescription CIC
£5,000 donated in July 2025 to support their creative workshops for those recovering from substance abuse.
"The grant enabled us to provide a series of creative workshops, providing a positive creative experience and offering performance opportunities. Sessions were tailored to individual needs, and tuition was given on a range of instruments that might otherwise not have been possible: drums, guitars, keyboards, percussion and sampling equipment. The participants wrote lyrics, composed and arranged music. Friendships were formed, life experiences shared and a support network established.
"The participants wrote about their personal experiences and learnt performance and musical skills which they went on to record and perform at local community events including open mic sessions.
“People in recovery from substance misuse and or suffering with poor mental health have benefitted from the grant. 45 individuals have been directly reached as a result of the workshops funded by the Alan Boswell Group Charitable Trust. In addition, the friends and families have gained as a result of improved wellbeing of the participants.”
