Alan Boswell Group Charitable Trust Summer 2025 Update
Alan Boswell Group

The Alan Boswell Group Charitable Trust continues to deliver on its commitment to make a difference to charitable causes in the areas that we operate in. We wanted to provide an update on the difference our donations are making to some of the charities.
In the last quarter, the Trust reviewed 104 applications and awarded over £167,000 in grants.
Here are some of the grants that were made:
Star Throwers

Star Throwers provide support, advice and therapies to those affected by cancer. £10,000 was donated to fund a refurbishment project of their cancer support centre. This project will enable them to continue supporting the needs of those they serve in the South Norfolk area.
Canine Partners for Independence

Canine Partners for Independence transform lives by partnering disabled people with assistance dogs, offering practical help, psychological and social benefits. Our grant of £10,000 will help fund the aftercare (vet visits, training, walking service, etc) costs of 10 dogs.
Big C Cancer Appeal

Big C Cancer Appeal are a well known charity within ABG. We are continuing our support with a £25,000 grant to go towards the running of their programme this year. Big C's services are more in demand than ever with almost 22,000 support sessions offered in 2024.
Happisburgh Coast Watch

Happisburgh Coast Watch received a £3,000 donation to replace the solar panels on their cabin which is unable have mains connectivity.
Music Prescription

Music Prescription promote and advance creative activities to those in drug and alcohol addiction recovery. Our donation of £5,000 will help fund the delivery of 12 workshops across three locations in Suffolk for four weeks.
Theodora Children’s Charity
£1,000 to fund visits from four ‘giggle doctors’ to children at Addenbrooke's Hospital.
Blue Smile Project
£5,000 to help fund their arts based therapeutic programmes to support children who are struggling with their mental health in Cambridgeshire.
Suffolk Owl Sanctuary
£7,860 to purchase larger hack pens for the bigger birds, like red kites, that they are now treating.
Peterborough Area Down Syndrome Group
£1,000 to help them increase their popular children's dance classes from monthly to fortnightly.
We also received some fantastic feedback from charities that have received donations from the Trust in the past:
Childhood First
£16,515 donated in January 2025 to Childhood First for the installation of a new sensory room.
“Your support has not only funded a physical space - it has created a daily refuge for children who live with the effects of trauma. The room promotes healing, safety, and self-regulation, all of which are critical foundations for therapy, learning, and trusting relationship-building.
As the children progress, we believe the sensory room will remain an essential tool in helping them transition into more stable, secure futures.”
Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue
£4,031 donated to Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue in March 2025
Last month the Grimsby office were visited by Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue to thank us for the Charitable Trust donation they received.
Staff members Joe McGuire and Lucia Grossi were able to see the new incubators that they have been able to purchase with our donation. The donation has had a huge impact on the animals they can now transport and care for.
Norfolk Heritage Fleet Trust
In 2022, and again in 2024, the Trust awarded Norfolk Heritage Fleet Trust with grants of £10,000 to kickstart their youth sailing programme.
Our grants have enabled the charity to do the following:
Take 311 primary school children sailing in 2023.
Take 492 primary school children and 81 young people from other charities sailing in 2024.
Chairman Neville Khambatta has provided the following about the project:
“In 2024 Project Starfish enabled 573 children and young people, who would not otherwise have the opportunity, to sail. The experience has had a profound and positive impact upon the children and young people. The staff from the schools reported that the children and young people were enthusiastic and engaged during the visit. All those interviewed expressed a desire to visit again.”
