Associate Director (Technical)

Nigel started his career in Leicester with General Accident as a commercial underwriter before moving to Norwich in 1994 to take up the role of Senior Underwriter. Through various mergers, Nigel completed nearly 25 years at (what is now known as) Aviva having extended his roles and responsibilities to include people management and scheme / business development.

Joining Alan Boswell Insurance Brokers in 2012, Nigel has held roles as Technical Manager and Head of Commercial Operations taking responsibility for Commercial Handling and Delegated Authority Underwriting Teams, as well as being actively involved with Insurer and Business strategies and the development of people.

Since becoming an Associate Director in 2019, Nigel has responsibility for providing and supporting Technical Competence across the Commercial Teams.

Outside of work, Nigel likes to keep fit by cycling and can occasionally be heard re-living his younger days as an avid runner when he won bronze medal in the National Insurance Track Championships over 5000m!
