Alan Boswell Group Charitable Trust Autumn 2026 Update

The Alan Boswell Group Charitable Trust continues to deliver on its commitment to make a difference to charitable causes in the areas that we operate in. We wanted to provide an update on the difference our donations are making to some of the charities.

In the last quarter, the Trust reviewed 76 applications and awarded over £178,000 in grants.

Here are some of the grants that were made:

Time Norfolk

Time Norfolk received a donation of £5,000 to go towards their mental health support programme, delivered from their hub in Norwich, for individuals experiencing pregnancy loss at any stage or the death of a baby.

Care Network Cambridgeshire

Care Network Cambridgeshire supports older people, carers, disabled people, and vulnerable adults to remain independent, connected, and well. A grant of £10,000 will allow them to run a wellbeing service to support those experiencing loneliness and social isolation in the Fenland area.

The Quay Theatre in Sudbury

A £5,000 grant was awarded to The Quay Theatre in Sudbury to go towards the costs of developing a new inclusivity programme, including the purchase and installation of a new hearing loop system that can be used via a smartphone.

East of England Ambulance Services

East of England Ambulance Services were awarded a grant of £10,000 to purchase two life saving kits for Community First Responders (CFR) and a Raizer Chair (helping people stand after a fall if unhurt) for the CFR group covering Potter Heigham and surrounding villages.

Aylsham and District Care Trust

Aylsham and District Care Trust support older and vulnerable people to live independently by providing them support and services to improve health and wellbeing. A grant of £5,000 was awarded to support the running of their mini buses which allow members living in rural locations to attend their lunch clubs in Aylsham every Monday and Thursday.

Ely Foodbank

£5,000 to fund the delivery of their core project, providing households facing acute financial hardships three days worth of food alongside practical support.

Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice

£5,000 towards the running of their hospice in Peterborough.

Norwich Door to Door

£5,000 to fund the running of one minibus for a year, allowing vulnerable adults in the Norwich area to continue to access essential health, wellbeing, and social opportunities.

Rural Coffee Caravan

£4,580 to allow the charity to visit 10 rural villages across Suffolk, offering a space for residents to come together to enjoy coffee and cake while providing support on a number of issues.

Shepreth Wildlife Conservation Charity

£2,000 to ensure their hedgehog hospital can continue to provide specialist veterinary care to the growing number of sick, injured, and orphaned hedgehogs admitted each year.

The Forum Trust

£6,000 towards the running of their annual science festival, including a new show element, Science of Sound.

We also received some fantastic feedback from charities that have received donations from the Trust in the past:

Norwich Samaritans

£6,000 donated in March 2026 to purchase noise cancelling headsets for their listening volunteer.

“The headsets are making a clear and immediate difference to the experience of volunteers working in our operations room. Noise within the room had been identified by volunteers as a significant barrier to effective listening. The new headsets reduce background noise and make it easier for volunteers to hear callers clearly, particularly when several volunteers are taking calls at the same time.

“To date, 85 of the 100 headsets purchased have been issued to volunteers. These volunteers have already used the new equipment during hundreds of calls.

“The funding from Alan Boswell has allowed us to address a practical problem that was affecting our volunteers' ability to listen effectively. The early feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and the fact that volunteers are actively asking for the new headsets to be extended to others demonstrates the value they are placing on the improvement."
